Each year Nate’s Plumbing gives a scholarship for Hockinson High School. It’s called the Perseverance Award. It is (2) scholarships of $3000 each. Students cannot apply for this award. The recipients are selected by the staff at the high school. The students selected are chosen for their ability to persevere through adversity and the scholarship can be used for college or if they choose to go into a trade, it can be used for work equipment so it doesn’t need to be used for academics.
We feel this sets the award apart from others. We feel it’s important to recognize that college isn’t necessarily the only way to pursue a living wage career path. It’s our way of supporting the trades.
